What are Chitika eMinimall Ads?
Chitika eMinimalls are a fairly new pay per click adversing company that focuses on product-based ads. They are similar to adsense ads in that come in similar ad formats and can be contextual. When someone clicks on the chitika ad on your website, you will get paid for that click.
The real difference between adsense and chitika eminimall ads is their appearance. Since they are product-based, they will usually show an image of a product next to the text link. When we look at a website, our eyes will usually be drawn towards an image, so this helps counter some of the “ad-blindness” that occurs with adsense and other text-based ads.
The second big difference from adsense, is that they have the ability to be non-contextual. What this means is that you can actually chose the exact product to show up, rather than letting the system decide for you based on your page content.
So, if you were writing a review on say, the Apple iPhone, you could chose to show iPhones and accessories in your eMinimall ad. This allows the publisher to have precise control over what ads are being shown to better target the content of the page and thus improve click through rate.
The good news is that you can use Chitika eMinimall ads in addition to adsense ads on your page, provided that you turn off the contextual option on the eMinimall ad. You would want the contextual option off on the eMinimall ad anyways, to allow you to chose the exact products you want to advertise.
Chitika eMinimalls tend to do well on product-based websites. This site for example is information based, so it wouldn’t make sense to put Chitika ads on it. However, I have put them on other sites that and they do quite well, sometimes out-performing adsense ads. They definitely are worth looking into.
