Tips on Finding a Clickbank Product to Promote
If you are a beginner to affiliate marketing and you want to make some money online, Clickbank is a highly recommended starting place. Of course, having a good selling Clickbank product will definitely go a long way to making you tons of money online.
So why is Clickbank such a popular place for affiliates to make money? Well, primarily, I think the simplicity of using the site is appealing to many people starting out in the making money online business. Creating your affiliate hoplinks is a super easy task. Also, since Clickbank offers many digital information products and software, you get paid a much higher percentage than you would if you were promoting actual tangible goods in other affiliate sites (CJ, ShareASale, etc.).
So, how do you find a good that winning Clickbank product to promote that will make you some serious cash? Well, the first place I like to look at in the Clickbank Marketplace is the product gravity. The product gravity as defined by Clickbank is as follows:
Gravity: Number of distinct affiliates who earned a commission by referring a paying customer to the publisher’s products. This is a weighted sum and not an actual total. For each affiliate paid in the last 8 weeks we add an amount between 0.1 and 1.0 to the total. The more recent the last referral, the higher the value added.
Sort of confusing explanation, I know. But this is all you really need to know; in general, the higher the gravity, the more sales that product has generated recently. Now, some people see a high gravity and get scared away because they know competition will be high with many other affiliates promoting it. However, a high gravity means that the product is actually selling and if you don’t have a product that is making sales then you’ll be just wasting your money and time promoting it.
The trick is finding an alternative way to promote a high gravity product that most aren’t doing. Think of it as a store with a huge boxing day sale. If everyone is rushing to get through the front door when the store opens you know you’ll have tons of competition getting in. So what you need to find is a side entrance that many people hadn’t thought about. When selecting a Clickbank product with high gravity think of a “side entrance” or an untapped niche that you can capitalize on. This make take some creative thinking, but at least you will be sending your traffic to a site that you know has been converting sales.
Another thing to look for is current market trends. Check to see what is happening in the news and see if there is a product that can solve a particular demand (this by the way, is how to generate many CPA and leads traffic).
For example, last year there was the big scare with the poison that was found in certain pet foods. People were wary of all types of store bought pet foods and were looking to alternatives. At the time, it just happens that there was a Clickbank product that would show you how to make your own pet food. Sales were through the roof for that particular product during that time because it met a current market demand.
Right now, we see that Gas prices are continuing to escalate. Well, if you check out the Clickbank marketplace, there is a product called: “Convert Your Car To Burn Water + Gasoline = Double Your Mileage!”, which currently had a gravity of over 250. It is clearly meeting a certain market demand of people wanting to save money to combat the soring gas prices.
Above all else, trust your instinct when choosing a product to promote. Check out the sales page and think to yourself - “Is this something I would buy?” If the answer is yes, the chances are other people are thinking the same thing too.
